The vast shorelines of the Nature Coast provide opportunity for anglers of all ages. The pristine waters, mature estuaries and healthy grass flats create one of the most action packed fisheries you’ll find in all of Florida. I’ve found over the years that this fishery is abundant with many species, and that is what creates such a “world-class” experience. Literally, you never know what to expect, and what will stretch your line at any given moment.

The truly spectacular part of your day is figuring out what species will chew? Whether you are fishing the oyster bars, rocks, shallow or deep grass flats, we always rely on our bread and butter, the Speckled Sea Trout and Redfish. But, there is always the unknown……what else is lurking on these inshore waters? Take a peek at the lineup below; the chance to boat any of these species on any given day is the true indicator of the vastness of the Nature Coast.

While the beauty of the inshore fishery is truly amazing, my custom skiff has the capacity to venture into the deeper depths. The terrain of the Nature Coast has a rule of thumb…..for every mile you travel, we get an additional foot of water. Let me elaborate on one critical piece when working these waters……..your grip is of the utmost importance!

While I target Tarpon, Cobia, Sheepshead, and Triple Tail, the “Heavy Hitter” is the Gag Grouper. There’s a misconception you need to roll to the offshore bottom to bring home the studs. How far from the truth is that? You only need to travel a couple of miles from the inshore excitement. The shallow water rocks and ledges produce some of the most action packed bites of any adventure you’ll experience. This is where the “grip” comes into play, as the 10 – 20 pound grouper will make or break your day.

The Nature Coast is not only blessed with an amazing fishery, the gin clear waters also produce one of the most prolific landscape for Bay Scallops in all of Florida. When it comes to sharing a lifetime of memories, snorkeling the near shore flats for these tasty morsels is an event your family will treasure.

The start of your your day will have you showing up with your mask/fins/snorkel (available upon request). There is then an eventful ride to the scallop grounds where you’ll encounter true Florida, and the beauty we share daily along our coast. You’ll then enjoy the scallops, while at the same time sharing the environment with an abundance of marine life.

A true blessing that “few” parts of Florida enjoy is that we’ll return to the spring fed waters of the Crystal River. We’ll jump into one of the many springs and refresh before enjoying the tasty scallops harvested earlier in the day.

For those who like to take it a step further, there is also the opportunity for the “surf and surf” adventure, as well as the Extended Scallop/Spring Tour. It just takes a bit more sunscreen to enjoy a few extra events and the beauty of a place I consider paradise.
